Miami Dolphins Lose Opener to New England Patriots

By Miami Dolphins Football Tickets Staff Writer: A. Hintz

Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to their first win of the season, overcoming a slow preseason start, with a team-record 517 yards passing. Brady had four touchdowns on the game.

Despite the great performance by Brady, the Dolphins did deliver the Patriots QB with a blow: defensive end Jared Odrick pick off a deflected pass to set up a Miami touchdown and end Brady's NFL-record streak of 358 passes without an interception. The rare interception was the first for Brady in almost 11 months.

Chad Henne, the Dolphins QB, also performed well with a career-high 416 yards passing. The two quarterbacks net 906 yards passing, an NFL record!

Miami Coach Tony Sparano thought the Dolphins played well against a tough team, but set a goal of doing better in future games by making it harder for opponents to score. Bill Belichick was pleased with the all-around contributions by his team.
